Rapper Sarkodie’s ‘Brag’ Sparks Cross-Border Rap Beef with Nigerian Artist Dremo

In the wake of rapper Sarkodie’s recent release of his track ‘Brag,’ which asserts his supremacy over certain Nigerian artists, a rap feud has ignited between artists from both Ghana and Nigeria.

In his song ‘Brag,’ Sarkodie asserts his dominance in the music scene, claiming to have been at the top of his game even before the emergence of Nigerian stars such as Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, and Asake. He downplays the Nigerian artists, suggesting that his only worthy competitors are Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole.

This assertion has prompted a response from Nigerian rapper Dremo Drizzy, affiliated with Davido, who has released a diss track aimed at Sarkodie. In his track titled ‘Burn,’ Dremo refers to Sarkodie as ‘delusional’ and ‘Baba Dudu,’ challenging his claims of superiority.

Addressing Sarkodie directly in his lyrics, Dremo dismisses Sarkodie’s assertions and dares him to respond with another verse. He even references Sarkodie’s past controversy with actress Yvonne Nelson, suggesting that if Sarkodie can reply to an actress, he should also respond to a fellow rapper.

Sarkodie, in response to Dremo’s initial track, acknowledged Dremo’s talent but did not engage further. However, this response seems to have fueled Dremo’s determination, leading him to release another track with a strong hope that Sarkodie will respond.

The exchange between Sarkodie and Dremo underscores the competitive nature of the rap scene and the willingness of artists to defend their reputations and assert their dominance. As the feud continues to unfold, fans on both sides eagerly await further developments and potential responses from Sarkodie.
