Maame Dokono Expresses Desire for Statue to Honor Her Legacy
Veteran Ghanaian actress and television icon Grace Omaboe, affectionately known as Maame Dokono, has shared her heartfelt wish for a statue to be erected in her honor.
In a recent interview with Blakk Rasta on the *Urban Blend* show on 3FM, Maame Dokono expressed her belief that a monument at Maame Dokono Park in Accra would serve as a lasting tribute to her contributions to Ghana’s entertainment industry.
While deeply appreciative of the recognition she has received throughout her illustrious career, Maame Dokono envisions the statue as a source of inspiration for future generations. She hopes it would encourage young people to pursue their dreams and strive for excellence, just as she has.
“Yes! I think there should be my statue there for my legacy to be in the minds of the little ones who are coming because I am even in their books,” she said.
However, the seasoned actress emphasized that her request comes with no pressure or obligation, leaving the decision to those who may choose to honor her in such a way.
“If something like that could be erected in my honor, it will be a nice thing. I am not forcing anybody to do it but if it is done, fine,” Maame Dokono explained.
Her humility and grace in making this personal request further reflect the qualities that have endeared her to countless fans and peers over the years. The potential statue would not only symbolize her enduring legacy but also serve as a beacon of inspiration for the next generation of Ghanaians.
