God has a greater and better plans for me in future – Dr. Bawumia
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice President and 2024 presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has expressed unwavering hope for a brighter future following his loss in the December 2024 elections. Speaking during a 31st December Watch Night service on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at Lighthouse Chapel International, Dr. Bawumia conveyed his confidence in God’s divine plan for his life. He declared, “I know and believe that God has a plan for me for greater and better things in the future.”
The Vice President also emphasized the importance of unity and gratitude as the nation embarks on a new chapter in 2025. He encouraged Ghanaians to appreciate God’s blessings and work together for the collective good. Referencing Thessalonians 5:18, he reminded the congregation of the need for constant thanksgiving, stating,
“The book of Thessalonians 5:18 tells us that in all things, give thanks to God. I have an abiding faith in the Lord, and for what He has done for us, we give Him thanks.”
Dr. Bawumia extended warm New Year wishes to the congregation and the entire nation. “From my wife and me, we wish you a Happy New Year. God bless Lighthouse Chapel, and God bless Bishop Dag,” he said. His presence at the service was accompanied by his wife, Samira Bawumia, NPP National Chairman Stephen Ntim, and other senior party officials.
The Vice President’s remarks come after his electoral defeat to former President John Dramani Mahama, who regained the presidency after losing two consecutive elections to the NPP’s Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. Despite the setback, Dr. Bawumia’s faith-driven optimism and call for national unity underscore his commitment to fostering hope and progress for Ghana’s future.
