GMA-USA Board Chair Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo Refutes Bias Claims Regarding Shatta Wale

Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo, the Board Chair of the Ghana Music Awards-USA (GMA-USA), has firmly denied allegations that his personal feelings towards Shatta Wale could influence his decision to award the artist if he merits it.

During an interview with Nana Kwame Gyan on Onua 95.1 FM’s show, *The 30 Minutes*, Asamoah-Baidoo addressed the speculation, labeling such claims as “unwise and ignorant.”

He clarified that he harbors no personal grievances against Shatta Wale and that his sole responsibility as board chair is to promote and recognize excellence within the Ghanaian music industry. Asamoah-Baidoo emphasized his commitment to maintaining the integrity and credibility of the awards, ensuring that personal biases do not interfere with the decision-making process.

“I don’t have any personal issues with Shatta Wale, and I am not sure Wale has also said he has any personal issues with me. I am a professional with a mandate to work, and I must stick with that mandate,” I’m only a Board Chairman presiding over highly educated individuals. How am I going to tell them not to give Shatta Wale an award if he deserves it because of some perceived personal sentiments?”

Asamoah-Baidoo explained.

Asamoah-Baidoo’s comments reinforce his commitment to fairness and professionalism in his role as GMA-USA Board Chair, ensuring that deserving artists are recognized based on merit rather than personal views.
