Ghana amongst winners as Africa’s brightest ICT minds honoured at prestigious TICON awards
TICON Africa Awards 2025: Winners Announced After Record 82 Entries
The Technology Information Confederation Africa (TICON Africa) has officially announced the winners of its prestigious annual awards, following a record 82 entries from across the continent.
President of TICON Africa, David Gowu, described this year’s competition as one of the most competitive to date.
“We received 82 nominations from across Africa, and the judges had a hard time reaching a decision on the final winners,” he said. “However, they are satisfied that they chose the absolute best of the best in top ICT minds from across Africa.”
Celebrating Africa’s ICT Innovation
Entries were received from multiple member countries, including Ghana, South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, showcasing the depth and diversity of Africa’s fast-growing ICT ecosystem.
The winners were officially honoured during TICON Africa’s annual Gala Dinner, which concluded the 2025 TICON Africa Conference held at the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra, Ghana, from 20–22 August 2025.
“My most heartfelt congratulations go out not only to each and every one of the winners, but also to all those who were in the running. I’m proud that we have such a vibrant ICT sector in Africa,” Gowu noted.
Stringent Selection Criteria
Each award category came with strict requirements, with nominees judged on their ability to use ICT innovation to deliver real impact within their communities, aligning with this year’s conference theme:
“Empowering Africa’s Tech Future: Innovation, Standards, and Global Influence.”
According to Gowu, the awards reflect more than individual recognition:
“Beyond celebrating personal excellence, these awards highlight Africa’s ability to create homegrown solutions that not only address local challenges but also contribute to global technological progress.”
