Stonebwoy Reflects on GIMPA Journey, Reveals Early Challenges with Security
Multiple award-winning Ghanaian singer and songwriter, Livingstone Etse Satekla, known by his stage name Stonebwoy, recently opened up about his educational experience at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).
In a candid interview with Kafui Dey on the GTV Breakfast Show, the reigning TGMA Artiste of the Year disclosed that for the first three weeks of his classes, he was accompanied by his bodyguard due to concerns about his safety.
Stonebwoy explained that the decision to have his bodyguard attend classes with him was made out of precaution. However, after three weeks, he was granted permission to attend independently, marking a significant step in his educational journey.
During the interview, Stonebwoy also reflected on the support he received throughout his time at GIMPA, particularly from his wife, Dr. Louisa Satekla. He revealed that she played a pivotal role in his academic pursuits by purchasing and registering him for the course.
Beyond his educational endeavors, Stonebwoy delved into various aspects of his life and career. He shared insights into his collaborations, including his work with Beninese-French singer-songwriter Angélique Kidjo on the track ‘Manodzi.’ Stonebwoy described the collaboration as a remarkable experience, praising Kidjo for her unsolicited guidance and support.
The Bhim Nation president also expressed his deep interest in fashion, attributing this passion to his mother’s profession as a seamstress. He mentioned that he personally alters most of his clothing, emphasizing the importance of individual style.
Reflecting on his personal life, Stonebwoy stressed the significance of taking one’s time with fatherhood and family responsibilities. He advised,
“There are two things no one should rush into: being a dad and a family person,” underscoring the importance of careful consideration in these roles.
