Visionary Norman Foundation’s ‘Feed The Street’ Initiative Nourishes Over 500 Homeless Individuals in Accra

In a powerful demonstration of communal strength, the Visionary Norman Foundation orchestrated the heartwarming event ‘Feed the Street,’ providing nourishment to over 500 homeless individuals across the vibrant streets of Accra.

Founder Abraham Norman Nortey reflected on the impact, stating,

“Beyond the statistics, ‘Feed the Street’ embodies our vision of fostering a world where no one goes to bed hungry. Today, the streets of Tudu, Tema Station Market, Accra Ministries, Mövenpick, Children’s Park, and Independence Square became a testament to the power of compassion.”

This initiative aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 2: “Zero Hunger,” addressing the global challenge where over 735 million people faced chronic hunger in 2022, a number expected to rise to 2 billion by 2050 if unaddressed.

Volunteers, united by a shared objective, not only distributed food and drinks but also provided essential humanitarian supplies, recognizing the multifaceted challenges faced by those living on the streets.

This event aims to combat hunger, promote sustainable agriculture, and enhance nutrition. Dr. Yaa Offei Darko, a dedicated volunteer, shared her perspective:

“Feeding the homeless goes beyond providing meals; it’s a profound act of acknowledging their humanity. ‘Feed the Street’ is a reminder that we are all part of one community, and every individual deserves nourishment and care.”

The initiative reflects the organization’s commitment to making a positive impact and fostering a sense of community among those in need.
