#OccupyJulorbiHouse Protesters Persist in March Towards Jubilee House

Protesters Face Off Against Police Barricade Near 37 Military Hospital

On Saturday, September 23, the #OccupyJulorbiHouse protesters gathered once more to continue their determined journey towards the Jubilee House, as originally planned. Armed with placards similar to those seen on Day 2 of the protest, the demonstrators began their march towards the seat of government, only to encounter a police barricade stationed at the 37 Military Hospital.

In contrast to their actions on Friday, September 22, the protesters decided to pursue an alternative route towards the Jubilee House. Convenor Oliver Barker-Vormawor explained, “There are ways of getting to the Julorbi House,” as the procession initially appeared to be retreating.

However, tensions escalated as the police sought to establish a barricade and contain the protesters in front of the 37 Military Hospital. In response, the demonstrators grew increasingly impassioned, eventually scaling over the barricade to resume their forward movement. Subsequently, they made a decisive U-turn towards the Jubilee House.
