Kanye West’s Twitter Account known as Ye, has been reinstated after an almost eight-month ban over offensive tweets. The US rapper faced accusations of violating the platform’s rules, particularly those prohibiting incitement to violence.

Upon returning to the platform, Kanye West has not posted anything new. His account now displays his last post, dating back to December 1, 2022, which was made a day before the suspension took effect.

The ban came about when Elon Musk, owner of Twitter, rebranded the platform to X. He made the decision to suspend Kanye’s account after the musician posted a series of offensive tweets, including one that featured a symbol combining a swastika and the Star of David. This was not the first time Kanye faced such repercussions; two months earlier, he was locked out of both his Twitter and Instagram accounts for posting anti-Semitic messages in October. Both platforms took swift action to remove his posts.

In response to his inappropriate behavior, clothing giant Adidas severed ties with the rapper in the same month, stating that they did not tolerate anti-Semitism or any form of hate speech.

Kanye West’s social media controversies extend beyond Twitter. In March of the previous year, he faced a 24-hour suspension from Instagram for using a racial slur in reference to comedian Trevor Noah.

As of now, neither X nor its billionaire owner, Elon Musk, have made any public statements regarding Kanye West’s account reinstatement on Saturday.

It is worth noting that Musk previously reinstated former US President Donald Trump’s Twitter account in November, following a poll in which 51.8% voted in favor of the reinstatement. However, Trump expressed no interest in returning to the platform.
