Standard Chartered Bank has announced former Chelsea player, Didier Drogba as its Digital Bank Ambassador.
The bank is set to launch in Abidjan, Ivory Coast on March 14, which is the first and fully retail bank in West Africa marks an important milestone in the bank’s path towards innovation and has been designed with continuous feedback from its customers.
As past of his role, the Ivory Coast football legend will be promoting the digital bank in Cote d’Ivoire.
Drogba will lend his image and voice through a series of marketing and community engagement activities for the next 12 months as part of the campaign.
He will however, becomes the first person in Ivory Coast to open a digital account at Standard Chartered Bank.
Regional CEO, Africa and Middle East of Standard Chartered, Sunil Kaushal, said “We are thrilled to be working with Didier Drogba to launch our first digital bank.
